The African Media Initiative (AMI) and the United Religions Initiative (URI) have agreed to work together to develop a network of journalists that will focus on issues of peace and conflict in Africa.

Recently I represented United Religions Initiative at the 12^th annual World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” under the theme “Preventing World War through Global Solidarity – 100 years on.”

International Day of Peace (IDP) 2014 brought together people from all over the URI network to honor the work of peacebuilding, community, education, and "The Right of Peoples to Peace."

Two URI Youth Representatives to the United Nations (UN) joined Malala Yousafzai, the 17 year-old Pakistani women’s and education rights activist, at UN headquarters in New York August 18th.

As the UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to observe the World Interfaith Harmony Week annually during the first week of February. During the 1^st week of February 2014 the world celebrated 4^th world interfaith harmony week throughout the world. Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) also actively participated to celebrate the world interfaith harmony week. To celebrate this week PCSW&HR organized various awareness activities.

The third URI All India Assembly in Shantiniketan offers an opportunity to recall the role leaders from India have played -- and continue to play -- in helping to create and grow URI.

URI’s founder and President, the Right Rev. William E. Swing, is involved in two new ventures – a graduate class and an online television show.
