Thanksgiving: it's a wonderful time of year for people to come together and give thanks.  Last month, URI Cooperation Circles around North America hosted and participated in events to do just that.

The above picture shows the Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada's annual Interfaith Thanksgiving service. The event was also featured in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Click here for more photos.

Rothko Chapel, in Houston, Texas, held an service that brought together leaders and members of nine faiths to offer prayers of thanksgiving and read sacred texts on thankfulness. You can watch a video of their service here

The Silicon Valley Interreligious Council participated in the Interfaith Thanksgiving Service (click for photos!) at the Church of the Ascension in Saratoga. The service was held on Thanksgiving day itself with a crowd of people who left the hubbub of the day to give thanks as a community.

The Interfaith San Ramon Valley and  the Interfaith Council of Rossmore, members the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County cooperation circle, celebrated with a Thanksgiving service and a harvest festival respectively. Follow the above links to see pictures.

The San Francisco Interfaith Council (SFIC) hosted a Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast with remarks from Rita Semel, founding chair of the URI Global Council,  Congressional Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee. You can see videos from the event here and here and photos here. The breakfast also celebrated SFIC's 25th anniversary!

The Marin Interfaith Council partnered with the Interfaith Street Chaplaincy to host the chaplaincy's 16th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve Service. They collected clean sleeping bags, blankets, rain-gear and socks for friends who live on the street.
