URI Pakistan held its 15th Annual Grand Christmas rejoicing program at the URI Pakistan Peace Center in Lahore in 2013.

If more humans start envisioning peace, in very practical, concrete ways, it makes a difference. 

Despina Namwembe, the URI Africa Regional Coordinator for Great Lakes travelled to Kenya and met with Nyambura Mundia, the Administrator of URI Africa, Kate Kiama, YLP youth ambassador and other women from different disciplines at the end of June, 2013.

India is a land of diversified culture, traditions and religions, still when it comes to joyous festival celebrations; they appear as an amalgamated homogeneous group symbolizing only one family.  All differences melt away smoothly when happiness and joy that accompanies a festival celebration capture the hearts of all the participants.  

Observing this wonderful trend of bridging different cultures, some of our PEACE CC members (Mr. Millindar and family and Prema) took initiative to celebrate Janamasthami that brought together different groups and tradition consisting of youth, women, men, senior citizens from Sikh, Hindus and parsis.

Youth Society for Peace in Nepal held several youth programs in a three-day celebration of International Day of Peace (IDP) at Peace Service Centre’s Ashram in Kathmandu.

Two URI Youth Representatives to the United Nations (UN) joined Malala Yousafzai, the 17 year-old Pakistani women’s and education rights activist, at UN headquarters in New York August 18th.

URI's South India Region held several youth programs, as well as a special guest lecture, for International Day of Peace (IDP) this year in Kottarakkara, India.

Paryusana is one of the two most important festivals for the Jains, the other being Diwali.
