The co-founders of the Interfaith Mediation Centre, a URI Cooperation Circle from Kaduna Nigeria, West Africa, receive the first Commonwealth Peace Prize.

Tahil Sharma, Regional Coordinator for URI North America, was invited to review the Netflix docuseries Colin in Black and White, detailing the formative years of NFL footballer and activist Colin Kaepernick. After reviewing the show and sharing thoughts, various people including the director Ava DuVernay invited Tahil to write a blog post for publication.
Drawing on the African Union theme of 2021, ‘Arts, Culture and Heritage: Levers for Building the Africa We Want’, the AU-CIDO, AU-Interfaith Dialogue Forum, International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) and United Religions Initiative-Africa in collaboration with UNESCO will discuss the theme and the role of religious leaders, faith based institutions and interfaith organizations in the protection of sacred sites and preservation of African cultural & Traditional heritage.
URI Latin America and the Caribbean Cooperation Circles celebrated this year's International Day of Peace with the theme: "Recover to Improve and Create a World of Fairness and Sustainability."
