URI Stories of Impact

In partnership with the Hoover Institution, the United Religions Initiative (URI) will be hosting an international interfaith peacebuilding conference and the annual Circles of Light gala.

URI featured prominently in programs and workshops at the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions (PoWR), the largest global interfaith gathering, which took place November 1 – 7, 2018 in Toronto, ON.

Choti si Khushi is a community-based, volunteer-driven program to bridge the rising disparity in opportunities for women and children residing in urban slums.

Participants learn both online and in-person, identifying their core values, making plans for their lives, finding and adopting mentors, and learning principles and skills that will help them lead out in their own lives and give back to others.

Frederica Helmiere, Regional Coordinator for the URI Multiregion (which comprises 64 Cooperation Circles with members in more than one region or with endeavors global in scope), has her arms around two members from RISE CC.

In Bulgaria, representatives of different religions support ethnic tolerance and peaceful coexistence with a “meal of peace.”
