URI Stories of Impact

Greetings from Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States. Members of the URI Global Council, President’s Council, URI Foundation and Global Staff arrived here a week ago in advance of the 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions.

A MOU was signed between Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights and United Nation Association Mauritius.

Oprah's new television series "BELIEF" shares personal stories of believers from many traditions around the world. The episode "Belief: Love's Story," airing Monday, October 19, will feature Christian Pastor James Wuye and Muslim Imam Muhammad Ashafa, members of the United Religions Initiative Interfaith Mediation Centre Cooperation Circle.

Over the weekend of International Day of Peace (September 21) I had the privilege of traveling to Southern California to with URI Cooperation Circles.

United Religions Initiative was represented at the 13th World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” held in Rhodes, Greece from October 8 to 12, 2015. This year’s overarching theme was “The World Beyond Global Disorder”.

On the 29th of August, we the members of Palki Peace CC observed the significant festival of Rakhsa (Rakhi) Bandhan which means "the tie or knot of protection." 

The 2nd Africa Peace Conference is being organized by the Africa Center for Peace Building, Ghana in collaboration with the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations and supported by Teachers Without Borders, Global Educators for All Initiative, Passion House International and Senyo Global Group.
