By encouraging members of all religions and faith traditions to work together to achieve fundamental human rights for all, Cooperation Circles lay the groundwork for a world of equality and justice.

Examples of our work in this Action Area:

• URI members in Jordan attended an intensive training on the international legal and policy framework of children's rights, to better protect children living in conflict zones.

• URI Bulgaria marked International Roma Day with social justice and Holocaust awareness training, helping an interfaith crowd understand more about a history of human rights abuses, while helping Roma youth feel more connected to their traditions.

• Karickam International Public School CC, in Kottarakkara, India, educates all children regardless of their caste, creating a culture of equal opportunity.

URI India's East Zone announces International Day of Peace celebrations

This year, several Cooperation Circles in URI India’s East Zone held International Day of Peace (IDP) celebrations.

Report on Launching Ceremony of Economic Empowerment of Women Project and Certificate Awarding Ceremony organized by Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR)

Pakistani Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) organized a launching ceremony of its project “Economic Empowerment of Women through Vocational, Life Skills, Cultivation training for kitchen gardening and Computer literacy” at Rawalakot on 1^st June 2014. This project is being executed by PCSW&HR with the collaboration of OBOS “The One Body One Spirit Movement” Korea since January 2014 but this project was officially launched on 1^st June 2014. President Azad Government State of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan was the chief guest of this project launching and certificate awarding ceremony whereas Mr. Muhammad Ijaz Noori Chairman PCSW&HR presided over the ceremony.

Ethiopian Olympian Haile Gebrselassie to become URI Goodwill Ambassador

United Religions Initiative (URI) Africa Regional Coordinator Mussie Hailu announced that Ethiopian Olympian and record breaking long distance runner Haile Gebrselassie has accepted an invitation to become a Goodwill Ambassador for URI.

Celebration of World Interfaith Harmony Week by PCSW&HR in February 2014

As the UN General Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to observe the World Interfaith Harmony Week annually during the first week of February. During the 1^st week of February 2014 the world celebrated 4^th world interfaith harmony week throughout the world. Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights (PCSW&HR) also actively participated to celebrate the world interfaith harmony week. To celebrate this week PCSW&HR organized various awareness activities.
