Karonga Nthora Cooperation Circle celebrated World Environment Day by watering the trees they had planted earlier this year at Nthola Primary School.

The Global Council is URI's governing board of directors. Global Council Trustees are democratically-elected by the URI member groups, called Cooperation Circles, around the world. The Trustees oversee the work of URI, offer direction, and provide leadership and strategic governance. 

Regarding the ancestral celebration of Pachamama Day in August and the time of confinement due to the pandemic, the new URI Global Councilor, Francisco Morales, also a member of the Cosmic Community CC, shares a powerful message of reflection on care and connection with Mother Earth or Pachamama.

Hosvin Ventura Palax Tuy, a 17-year-old young man, is an active member of the CC Los Descendientes de Guatemaya. This URI member group is dedicated to the preservation of the Mayan culture and its transmission from generation to generation.

Julian Ticona was the first contact of the URI member group Qhana Uta of Bolivia.

Abhigyane Foundation runs on the motto ‘extending support for education and health care of disabled, orphans and underprivileged’.

In Pakistan, a group of Christians from different denominations has joined forces to sustain a historic hospital serving the Lahore community.

Under the pandemic, WEDO GLOBAL (a URI member group in Hong Kong) and South Asian Sewing Ambassadors are co-creating culturally vibrant mask covers.

As part of our #COVID19 project, we are making sure that various of our Justice Schools have access to the personal protective equipment (PPE) they need.
